A lot of fun with his wife Renée and his son Ronnie Moirano

Bastogne, December 13, 2014.
Meet and greet at the Bastogne Barracks

Sergio Angelo Moirano landed with the 357th Infantry Regiment on D-Day and remembers being on the right side of the boat, not knowing anyone that was with him. As soon as the ramp opened bullets hit to his left so he decided to get out of there over the right side of the boat. After that he was involved in the hedgerow battles until he was wounded on June 27 and sent to a hospital. He returned to Company G, 357th Infantry Regiment on January 3, 1945 and was brought back to the hospital on January 24, 1945 as a victim of frostbite. After the war he met Belgian girl Renée Grognard and after their marriage Sergio settled in Belgium where he still lives today.
